… which means there’s now a lot of speed-walking and fast talking around the office. It also means it’s been a productive week.
In case you missed it, our programming line up was set and announced this week for the 46th Annual Variety Show of Hearts Telethon. And it’s a good one. Adele, Bryan Adams, Neil Young, Mariah, Buble, Phil Collins, Paul Simon, and the most soulful Divas in music today. This is surely our most exciting lineup of programming yet. Check the deets here.
Another big congratulations to Jeneece Edroff from Victoria. This “Penny Girl” and Variety celebrity has been raising money for Variety to help BC’s children with special needs since she was just a few years old. Now, her efforts have paid off and her dream has come true. Jeneece cut the ribbon at the grand opening of Jeneece Place last Saturday, a home where families can stay as a family while one of their own is receving medical services at the hospital. This has been Jeneece’s dream project for many years, so congrats Jeneece!
It’s Friday, and if you thought we’re resting for the weekend, you couldn’t be more wrong. We’ll be back in the office tomorrow (that’s right, on Saturday) to begin putting together the complete rundown for the 23 hours of the telethon. All of our different segments and stories will be put into place. Stressful but excited to see the telethon start to take shape. Be sure to check back for updates.
We can almost count down the days to the telethon with our fingers.
… and our to-do list is still a few pages long! Nonetheless, energy is high and excitement is building quickly. It seems we all now have “telethon brain” here at Global BC!
Much has happened this week. Highlights…
Shooting on Steve’s Little Darling began this week. We have four amazing children, who have all been helped by Variety, and who we will introduce to you starting the week before the telethon on the Morning News with Steve Darling. Our Little Darlings will also appear on the telethon for a little reunion with Steve, so stay tuned because we know you’ll wanna to meet them.
This year, we have what is probably our most exciting line-up of programming. We can’t announce the complete line-up just yet, but a little preview to tickle your curiosity… Michael Buble and Adele. Do we have your attention yet? Keep checking back as we will be announcing the complete line-up very soon.
And of course, if you haven’t heard, Jeneece Place will have its grand opening this weekend. Check in with us next week as we will have photos from the event for all to see!
There’s less than four weeks left until the 2012 Variety Show of Hearts Telethon! Hard to believe it’s already been a year since the last edition, and even harder to believe show time is just a month away. Needless to say, bloodshot eyes and hair-pulling is now a daily occurrence as we hastily finalize all the details for what will be the best telethon yet.
And even though we’re staggering more than swaggering these days, we still want to take the time to give you an inside look into the preparations for the 2012 Show of Hearts Telethon.
So stay tuned and check back for updates on the 411 on what’s happening behind the scenes. You can also check in with us on Twitter @SOHTelethon and @VarietyBC. Actually, that’s mandatory! So go do it now if you haven’t already! Global BC and Variety BC are also on Facebook and on the web. We’ve taken over the internet so there’s no excuse not to find us.
